We Have Fun
I am very passionate about offering lots of opportunities for your pets to be enriched and am always researching new ideas. This includes but is not limited to; scatter feeding (for all pets), digging boxes for dogs and bunnies, sand baths for rodents, allowing dogs to snif snif snif their way around on a walk, ‘treat’ treasure hunts, homemade puzzles, kongs…… the list is endless and a great way to break boredom, prevent depression/ too much sleeping and behavioural problems.
What is enrichment?
Environmental or behavioural enrichment is the process of manipulating an animal's environment to increase physical activity and the species' typical behaviour that satisfies the animal's physical and psychological needs. It reduces stress and therefore promotes overall health by increasing an animal's perception of control over their environment and by also occupying their time. Techniques utilised to enrich an environment generally fall into 5 categories:
- Food based enrichment
- Sensory enrichment (sight, smell, touch, hear, taste)
- Novel objects
- Social enrichment
- Positive Training
